Podcast 317: Let's Play Gekkur

On this week's show, we play Gekkur. It's kind like a national lottery mixed with bingo, mixed with Dialing for Dollars, mixed with a PBS pledge drive. Is it confusing? Yep. Are there lots of rules? Oh, yeah. Is it a fun way to pass an hour? Definitely.

Introducing: Home and Away

Home and Away is a show that documents the life of foreigners in the Faroe Islands. On each show, host Stella Zachariassen, a Faroese woman of Sri Lankan descent, talks to someone who immigrated to the Faroes and asks what their lives were like in their country of origin, and how they've adapted to life on the islands. We'll be featuring episodes of Home and Away in the Faroe Islands Podcast feed for the next few months.

On this first episode, Stella talks to  Ved Nagersheth from Mauritius. We hope you enjoy these programs. As always, you can listen on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, or wherever you listen to podcasts. You can also download the show directly here or listen on the media player at the bottom of this post.

Podcast 316: Volleyball, Volunteerism, and Vexing Trees

This week's podcast features an interview with Sandra Brunke, she's a woman from Germany who helps volleyball players from around the world find placement at colleges in places like the USA and Canada. She was interviewed by Oli Samuelsen on FM 1.

We also hear an extremely short interview with our friend Darius Lewis after KI Klaksvik won the top league in Faroese football (soccer).

Then we walk through a confusing set of woods that can confound a foreigner, like the host of this podcast, but are actually quite common in the Faroes.

As always, you can listen on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, and just about anywhere you get podcasts. You can also download the show directly here or listen on the audio player at the bottom of this post.
